On Gather, I'm Looking For ...: A place to 1) publish my writing & get feedback, 2) read good stuff by others 3) sound off on issues that matter to me Interests Favorite Music, Artists, Genres: Contemporary folk, acoustic, singer/songwriter, country blues, Irish traditional, sprinklings of jazz, bluegrass and classical. Also like some of the big band stuff, especially Ella, Louie and Billie Holiday. World music can be very exhilerating, too, especially the stuff that is modern but taps into the traditional music of the culture. Favorite Books, Writers, Genres: For escape, I enjoy science fiction & epic fantasy. I like books about the traditions of Celtic Pagan mythology & traditions. I also read a lot of nonfiction related to my interests in greenhouse production, medicinal herbs & organic farming., Too many to focus on to include here. I do like to search out Minnesota fiction writers and Bill Holm is a favorite. Favorite Movies, Actors, Genres: Film is an escape for me. The movies I've most enjoyed tend to be on the fluffy, funny side. I'm also a sucker for special effects. Favorite TV Shows, Actors: I only watch PBS. No cable, by choice. I like Nature, Nova, POV, Jeekers and Antiques Roadshow best but also like their history shows & documentaries. Interests and Activities: I am an organic farmer, growing fresh produce in a solar greenhouse all winter. I'm also a songwriter & singer, play guitar and acoustic bass guitar. I'm also a very good writer.
